An article in The Verge has given an unique insight in the traumatic working conditions that social media content moderators must deal with as part of their required daily working duties.
The article details the accounts of many different content moderators including Chloe, a young female who said that 0 among other things, she had to view a video of a man being murdered along with various examples of ‘hate speech, the violent attacks, the graphic pornography’. She has seen counsellors and psychologists in order to deal with the massive mental strain she sustained due to the work targets and duties in place.
